Job Summary
We are seeking a full time passionate and skilled Chocolatier/Confectioner to join our team at the start of August. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and an artistic flair for creating exquisite chocolate confections. Work days extend from Tuesday-Saturday. As an Assistant Chocolatier, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality chocolates, truffles, ganaches, pate de fruit, caramels, dragees, and other sweet treats while ensuring adherence to food safety standards. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, exceptional multi-tasking abilities, and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in our front end.
Duties
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks and standing for 8 hours.
- Create a variety of chocolate products including bonbons, bark, dragee, caramels, and specialty fillings.
- Prepare and package chocolates for retail display and customer orders.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the quality and safety of all products.
- Collaborate with team members to develop new recipes and seasonal offerings.
- Interact with customers to provide information about products and assist with selections.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, informing orders as needed.
- Participate in promotional events and tastings to showcase chocolate creations.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of chocolate tempering techniques, and chocolate fluidity for shelling work.
- Experience in baking or working within the food industry is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with clients.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Creativity in designing unique chocolate products that appeal to customers.
- Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and tools related to chocolate making, such as tempering machines, bain maire, piping bags, etc.
