Summary
As the Human Resources Business Partner, you will support and execute HR initiatives across all provinces in Canada, acting as a key partner to field teams. This role is responsible for delivering hands-on HR support while ensuring alignment with company policies, culture, and business objectives.
You will work closely with managers and employees to support employee relations, performance management, compliance, and day-to-day HR operations. This position requires an understanding of Canadian employment standards, along with a practical, solutions-focused approach to supporting a multi-provincial workforce.
Role and Responsibilities
HR Business Partnership:
- Partner with Regional and District Managers (dotted-line support) to address day-to-day HR needs across field teams.
- Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, and policy interpretation.
- Support workforce planning, organizational changes, and employee engagement initiatives.
Employee Relations and Support:
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters across Canada.
- Conduct investigations into workplace concerns, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.
- Coach managers on handling performance issues, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
Compliance and Policy Management:
- Ensure compliance with employment standards and labor laws across all Canadian provinces.
- Support the implementation and consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation and support audits as required.
Talent and Performance Management:
- Support performance review processes, goal setting, and development planning.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to support hiring needs and onboarding processes.
- Assist in identifying development opportunities and succession planning.
HR Operations and Reporting:
- Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy within HR systems.
- Support reporting related to headcount, turnover, and HR metrics.
- Collaborate with Payroll and HR leadership to ensure alignment on employee data and changes.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with US HR leadership to ensure alignment across North America.
- Provide regular updates to the HR Director on trends, risks, and employee feedback.
- Support communication and rollout of HR initiatives across the region.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- 3–5 years of HR experience, preferably in a business partner or generalist role
- Familiarity with Canadian employment laws across multiple provinces
- Experience supporting field-based teams in a multi-location environment
- Exposure to employee relations with the ability to handle sensitive situations
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Additional Information
Based in Toronto, with travel across Canada as needed
Flexibility to support business needs outside of standard hours when required

Pay: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
