Crisis Intervention Worker
- Full Time Position
- 12.25hr shifts(night, day and holiday)
- Non sleeping shift we do pay a night deferentia.
Education:
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent with work experience or education in the Human Service field.
Experience/Assets:
- Knowledge of family violence and related issues
- Knowledge of community resources
- Ability to remain calm in high stress situations.
- Non-judgmental approach
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated
- Ability to work as an effective team member and independently.
Requirements:
- Criminal Record Check
- Intervention Record Check (CFSA)
- Standard First Aid Certificate
Summary of position:
The CIW is required to develop a supportive relationship with women and children residing in the Shelter. In addition, responsibilities include 24 hour Crisis Line, Education and Safety Planning, Advocacy, referrals to community agencies and maintaining a good relationship with relevant services providers/agencies.
