Job Location: Gorham St & Leslie St, Newmarket ON

Shift time: 6:30 am - 3:00 pm (Monday - Friday)

Job Summary:
The Packaging Operator is responsible for packaging metal products according to company standards, ensuring quality, accuracy, and efficiency in the manufacturing process. This role involves operating packaging equipment, conducting quality inspections, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Prefer someone who is local and is able to commute to work
Key Responsibilities:
- Packaging & Handling:
- Package metal products according to specifications, ensuring accuracy in labeling, weight, and presentation.
- Operate and monitor packaging machinery, conveyors, and other related equipment.
- Stack, wrap, and palletize finished goods for storage or shipment.
Quality Control:
- Inspect products for defects, damages, or inconsistencies before packaging.
- Ensure correct labeling, batch numbers, and quantities. and documentation of packaged materials.
- Report any product or packaging defects to the supervisor immediately.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
- Set up, adjust, and troubleshoot packaging machinery as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of packaging equipment, urethane rollers must be maintained, inspected and cleaned each week.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards while handling heavy materials and operating machinery.
Cross Training & Assistance on Slitting Line
- Must help on Slitting Line and willing to learn and work on other stations/machines whenever required/possible.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of coils and with setup of new job.
- Work as a team and take additional responsibilities with time and grow along with Company.
Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all company safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Comply with industry regulations and workplace safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to prevent accidents or contamination.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment, preferably in metal production.
- Ability to operate packaging machinery and use hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Basic knowledge of workplace safety, handling hazardous materials, and industrial packaging processes.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in metal manufacturing or heavy industrial packaging.
Preference may be given to candidates who reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the work location and can reliably attend scheduled shifts.
