The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a
Recreation Therapist to join our
Lifestyle Options – Terra Losa team on a temporary full-time basis, with the assignment scheduled to conclude on July 31, 2027. In this role, you will design thought-out treatment plans that improve and maintain the physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being of our residents under the direction of the site manager.
What you’ll do:
- Conduct resident assessments and develop personalized recreation and leisure goals using standardized tools and therapeutic models.
- Create and lead purposeful interventions that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being.
- Develop monthly calendars and newsletters with input from Recreation Therapy Assistants; encourage resident involvement in planning.
- Monitor resident participation, document progress, and adjust treatment plans based on feedback and observations.
- Handle documentation, statistics, basic budgeting, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Recreation Therapy or related field.
- Registered and in good standing with ATRA, CTRA, ThAAA, or LACAA.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience working with seniors, including those with dementia.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
- Emotionally intelligent and empathetic in resident and family interactions.
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
