Job Description
We’re looking for an energetic, motivated, and detail-oriented Vision Therapist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, has strong communication skills, and is passionate about helping others grow in confidence and performance.
As a Vision Therapist, you’ll guide patients through structured, one-on-one training sessions designed to improve how the eyes and brain work together. Vision therapy strengthens skills such as tracking, focusing, eye coordination, and visual processing.
You’ll work with a wide range of patients, including children who may struggle with reading and learning, adults with visual challenges, and athletes looking to enhance performance. Your work will help patients build visual skills that support success in school, work, daily life, and sport.
Key Responsibilities
- Support new clients through the referral and intake process
- Manage scheduling for assessments, training sessions, and follow-up evaluations
- Lead individualized vision therapy sessions
- Track progress and maintain accurate session notes
- Meet regularly with the supervising optometrist to review client progress
Full training is provided under the direction of an optometrist, with opportunities for additional professional development and accreditation.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Post-secondary education
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with children
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Confident problem-solving and thinking on the spot
- Available to work evenings and Saturdays
- Comfortable using basic Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
Assets (not required):
- Athletic background in sports (as an athlete) or coaching
- Education or experience in kinesiology, physiotherapy, or occupational therapy
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 30 per week
