Securicare is seeking a Healthcare Security Supervisor to lead operations at a healthcare site in Squamish for Squamish General Hospital (SGH) within the Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) portfolio. In this role, you will oversee frontline security staff, ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, and manage day-to-day operations and incident response. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with healthcare security experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
Pay Rate: $29/hr

DutiesResponsibilities:

Directly supervise a team of security officers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure adherence to site policies and procedures

Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance team performance and professionalism

Monitor surveillance systems, alarm systems, and access control systems to detect and prevent security breaches

Coordinate with law enforcement agencies and emergency responders to address security incidents effectively

Conduct risk assessments to identify potential security vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies

Collaborate with clinical teams, facilities management, and site leadership to address security concerns and implement proactive measures

Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures for fire, active threat, and other critical incidents

Serve as a liaison between security personnel and healthcare staff to ensure effective communication and coordination

Oversee incident response and support frontline staff during medical emergencies, disturbances, and safety events

Review incident reports for accuracy and compliance, providing coaching and escalation as required.
Requirements:

Valid BC Security Worker Licence (SWL)

Valid Advanced Security Training (AST) certificate

Valid Non-violent Crisis Intervention Training is an asset

Minimum 2 years of security supervisory or site lead experience, preferably in healthcare or high-profile environments.

Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor, and manage a team effectively

Strong understanding of incident management, emergency response protocols, and risk mitigation

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with staff, patients, and stakeholders

Proven ability to remain calm, make decisions, and lead during high-pressure or emergency situations

Strong report writing, documentation, and incident review experience.

Intermediate computer skills (incident reporting systems, email, basic MS Office)

post-secondary education in Police Foundations, Community Justice Services, or Law Enforcement is an asset.
