Purpose:
Cleanliness is a critical part of the guest experience and helps create a lasting impression of quality and care. The Houseperson plays a vital role in maintaining the appearance, hygiene, and safety of all public areas in the facility. From lobbies to restrooms, hallways to event spaces, your attention to detail helps ensure every corner of the property looks immaculate and feels welcoming.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all public and common areas including lobbies, hallways, elevators, stairwells, public restrooms, and entrances.

Dust, mop, vacuum, sweep, and polish surfaces according to established cleaning protocols and schedules.

Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces such as door handles, railings, and light switches to ensure health and safety standards are met.

Empty and sanitize garbage and recycling bins regularly throughout the shift.

Replenish supplies in public restrooms and other common areas as needed (toilet paper, soap, and hand towels, etc.)

Wear safety protection equipment in accordance with department policy and legislative requirements.

Safely handle, use, and store cleaning in chemicals and materials in compliance with WHMIS and company guidelines.

Identify and report and maintenance needs, safety hazards, or damages to the supervisor.

Assist in responding to guest inquiries or concerns in public areas professionally and courteously.

Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency.
Support other housekeeping team members when needed and contribute to a clean and safe environment across all areas.

This job requires the ability to perform the following:

Carry and lift up to 45 pounds/20 kilograms and push/pull medium to large cleaning equipment.

Stand and walk for extended periods, often on hard surfaces.

Regularly bend, reach, kneel, and stoop as part of routine cleaning tasks.

Work in both indoor and occasionally outdoor public spaces.

Remain focused and detail-oriented in fast-paced or high-traffic areas.
Other Requirements:

Clear and professional communication when interacting with guests and colleagues.

Basic reading and writing skills for tasks lists, signage, and supply inventories.

Ability to follow instructions and established cleaning checklists consistently.

Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, or holidays.
Job Type:
6-month contract with possibility of extension and/or transition to a permanent position.

Experience:
- Must have prior housekeeping experience, preferably in a large-volume or hotel environment.
