We at Gillespie Horticulture & Sanitation, are looking for an adaptable cleaner that can handle some dirty work! This position is for 5-days per week (Mon-Fri) cleaning of multiple locations. Locations range from large multi-story buildings, small assisted-living facilities, & vacant units. Plus 2x-3xweekly after hour cleaning of 3 offices.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable with varying locations/schedule, as well comfortable traveling & dealing with people. Some weekends may be required but minimal.
*Effective Immediately, duration of employment estimated 2-mths, with possibility to extend*
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Traveling to multiple designated locations to complete regular cleaning tasks.
- Daily sweeping, vacuuming & mopping floors
- Disinfecting/cleaning kitchen.
- Spot cleaning walls, doors, windows, ledges, windows, etc.
- Emptying trash cans daily (including cleaning inside)
- Daily detailed cleaning of restrooms & cleaning/disinfecting communal surfaces.
- Refilling of dispensers
- Cleaning behind large appliances
- Weekly exterior litter pick up around entrances.
- Traveling to complete heavy cleaning jobs, upon request, as necessary (details to be provided).
- Notifying management of any required repairs & low supplies for restocking.
- Mix & dispose of all cleaning solutions appropriately.
- Cleaning of work vehicles
- Minor repairs (if necessary – will be discussed)
- Open/Lock Up building.
- Some Heavy Lifting (10-40lbs)
- Ensure cleaning supply stock is kept full & advise when running low.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Valid NS drivers license, mandatory (with drivers abstract)
- First Aid & WHMIS certification
- Clean criminal record, required
- Excellent organization, communication & time-management skills.
- Problem Solving & Confident Decision Making.
- Ability to walk, bend, push, pull & lift repetitively.
- Ability to strip & wax floors, along with handling heavy equipment & machinery. (ex. Swing machine used for stripping/waxing floors)
- Ability to identify & complete tasks without supervision.
