Quality Technician
As one of North America’s largest manufacturers of nutraceutical products and part of the global Fertin Pharma Group, Fertin Canada offers complete services from R&D, formulation, manufacturing and packaging.
This role is responsible for ensuring that products and services meet the established standards set by the company. Responsibilities include maintaining strong overall quality control of products made by the company adhering to reliability, performance, and customer expectation.
Key Responsibilities
· Performing daily QC check – incoming ingredients, process, and finished product.
· Coordinating with HACCP & production teams to ensure risk assessment is undertaken.
· Assures consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing good manufacturing practice (GMP) systems, validating processes, and providing documentation.
· Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits, and investigating customer complaints.
· Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.
· Monitor the disposition of all issued nonconformance reports.
· Coordinate all QA/QC activities with the site manager.
· Provide training and support to staff on systems, policies, procedures, and core processes.
· Schedule third party testing and retention for sample ingredients and products.
· Issuing Certificate of Analysis based on lab results, internal QC records and SOP’s.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Education & Experience
· Post-secondary associate's or bachelor’s degree in a scientific field preferred.
· 2-3 years of experience in a lab as a QA/QC Technician.
· Basic knowledge of analytical instruments (water activity meter, spectrometer, temperature probes, scales, and calibration)
· Computer skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant computer programs
· Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement; ability to use concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios.
· Strong attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.

· Experienced in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
· Able to work collaboratively and cooperatively with various departments and (internal and external) stakeholders.
· Highly organized and able to maintain a sense of relative priority on multiple ongoing projects.
· Must handle sensitive, confidential information appropriately and discreetly.
· Proficient in MS Office suite
