Senior CNC Setup Machinist – Afternoon Shift
A growing precision machining company in Edmonton is seeking experienced Senior CNC Setup Machinists to join our afternoon shift team. This is a hands-on role focused on complete machine setup, first-off production, and machining of high-quality precision components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Shift:
- Monday to Thursday
- 3:20 PM – 1:50 AM
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complete setups on CNC lathes from start to first-off approval.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Set tooling, workholding, and machine offsets.
- Verify first-off parts and make process adjustments as required.
- Maintain quality standards and complete in-process inspections.
- Work safely while maintaining an organized work area.
- Support continuous improvement and efficient production.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5–7 years of CNC lathe setup experience.
- Experience with Mazak (Mazatrol) and/or Doosan (Fanuc) CNC lathes.
- Ability to independently complete full machine setups.
- Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and GD&T.
- Programming experience is not required, but experience with Mazatrol or G-code programming is considered a strong asset.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
