Our operations include demolition, site preparation, excavation, underground service installation, remediation services, telecom, and special projects. We are currently looking for Gillam residents to fill temporary General Labourer and Scale Operator roles for a Surface project within the local community.
General Labourer - Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform general labour duties including digging, trench grading, demolition, cleanup, and material handling.
- Operate hand tools, cutting equipment, small powered equipment, vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment (if applicable).
- Assist with installation, repair, and maintenance of structures, systems, tools, and equipment.
- Load, unload, organize, and maintain company tools, materials, and equipment.
- Complete equipment inspections and daily reports.
- Follow project drawings, specifications, and supervisor instructions.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members.
- Maintain required training and certifications.
Scale Operator - Primary Responsibilities:
- Operate computerized truck scales.
- Weigh inbound and outbound loads.
- Issue scale tickets and bills of lading.
- Communicate with truckers, operators, and any others involved.
- Monitor safety procedures and site traffic.
- Handle phone calls, when needed.
- Maintain logs, reports, and inventory records.
- Keep the scale house and equipment clean and organized.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Participate in daily safety meetings and complete required safety documentation.
- Perform pre-use inspections and report equipment or site hazards.
- Follow all company safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Identify overhead and underground hazards before starting work.
- Maintain safe, organized, and productive work areas.
- Operate all tools, vehicles, and equipment safely.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required.
- 1–3 years of heavy civil construction experience considered an asset for the General Labourer role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with supervisors, coworkers, and clients.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, and work long and unpredictable hours including weekends, as required. (Generally, Monday through Sunday between the hours of 7:00 am and 7:00 pm)
- Physically fit and capable of frequent lifting up to 50 lbs, as well as bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

Estimated end date: September 30, 2026
Wage range for this role is between $22.55 to $28.59 per hour, depending on relevant experience. Overtime is paid after 50 hours worked per week.
