Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Office Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth daily operations of the front desk. This role requires a friendly demeanor, strong administrative skills, and familiarity with dental office procedures and software. Prior experience in dental or medical office environments is highly preferred to ensure efficient handling of patient interactions, appointment scheduling, and record management.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages
- Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records using Dentrix or Epic software
- Collect payments, process billing, and handle administrative tasks related to patient accounts
- Maintain accurate records using electronic medical records systems and ensure confidentiality
- Schedule appointments efficiently while coordinating with dental staff to optimize daily workflow
- Prepare and organize patient files for upcoming procedures or visits
- Assist with administrative duties such as filing, faxing, and data entry as needed
- Ensure the reception area remains clean, organized, and welcoming
Skills
- Proven experience as a dental receptionist or in a similar front desk role within a dental or medical office setting
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Dentrix or Epic
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally
- Proficiency in office software applications including Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes and billing procedures is a plus
- Friendly demeanor with excellent customer service skills to create a positive patient experience
