Job SummaryWe are seeking a professional, reliable, and highly responsible Cross-Border AZ Truck Driver to join our international transportation team. This role involves operating commercial trucks to transport freight safely and efficiently on long-haul routes between Canada and the United States. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, a clean record, and at least 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience. Candidates must be fully equipped to handle the unique demands of international commercial driving, including border crossings, log management, and manual truck operations.Core Responsibilities
- Cross-Border Transport: Safely operate AZ licensed commercial vehicles for international long-haul freight deliveries between Canada and the US.
- Equipment Operation: Must be able to confidently operate a manual transmission highway tractor.
- Trip Inspections: Systematically perform rigorous inspections of the tractor-trailer unit before, during, and after trips to ensure total mechanical compliance.
- Customs Clearance: Ensure smooth customs processing by managing required documentation, including FAST approval, ACE/ACI manifests, and commercial invoices.
- Freight Handling: Load, unload, and secure freight using forklifts or heavy machinery while strictly avoiding cargo damage or shifts during transit.
- Compliance & Logs: Comply with all Canadian and US Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) tracking via ELD.
- Dispatch Communication: Maintain continuous, effective communication with dispatchers regarding border delays, traffic updates, and delivery windows.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years of verifiable work experience operating AZ commercial vehicles.
- Licensing & Background: Valid AZ Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) paired with a clean CVOR and driver's abstract. Must pass a criminal background check.
- Travel Documents: Must hold a valid Passport and have the ability to legally enter the United States.
- Transmission Competency: Proven proficiency in operating a Manual transmission highway tractor-trailer unit.
- Communication: Good communication skills (verbal and written) to interact with clients, customs officials, and dispatch teams.
- Scheduling Flexibility: High level of flexibility to accommodate different start times and variable long-haul dispatch schedules.
- Screening: Ability to pass pre-employment background checks, criminal record searches, and DOT-regulated drug/alcohol screenings.
