Job Overview
The Lumber Yard Operations Coordinator role is responsible for supporting day-to-day customer service, order fulfillment, inventory handling, shipping coordination, and general facility operations. This position serves as a key point of contact for customers while also working closely with vendors, the lumber yard team, shipping staff, and internal departments to ensure orders are accurate, complete, and delivered on time.
Job Duties:
Customer Service:
- Serve walk-in and call-in customers in a professional manner.
- Invoice clients from the customer service desk, and take payments, or charge to the customer account.
- Communicate scheduling, pricing, and other relevant information to customers.
Production & Shipping:
- Communicate with vendors for accurate shipping and receiving information.
- Ensure orders are complete and appropriately communicated to the lumber yard team.
- Schedule/coordinate your sales deliveries with the Shipping Manager using the company scheduling software.
- Pick and prepare orders as required.
- Restock inventory as it arrives from vendors.
- Inventory quality check by counting inventory and updating records.
- Making deliveries, if required, to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Receive packing slips into company inventory software accurately, and communicate incoming deliveries with relevant departments.
- In-house pre-finishing of pine and other products as required.
General:
- Ensure the exterior and interior of the facility is clean, safe, and organized.
- Ensure to prioritize safety, good work ethic, and a positive workplace culture.
- Ensure pre-operational inspections of equipment are completed as required.
- Light mechanical repairs on equipment as required (ex. Changing of light bulbs, greasing machines, etc.)
- Look for ways to improve and streamline tasks and processes.
- Communicate existing, anticipated, or potential issues clearly to help avoid or reduce risk.
- Other duties as assigned that would be reasonably expected from this position.
Qualifications:
- Valid G class driver’s license
- Forklift license
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials (50lbs)
- Knowledge of residential building materials.
- Ability to use/learn Spruce software
- Strong time and resource management skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong computer skills.
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
