We are seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our construction and restoration team. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential and commercial carpentry, renovation, and general construction practices. This role involves working on a variety of projects that require precision, attention to detail, and the safe operation of tools and equipment. Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to determine work requirements
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install wood and other building materials
- Construct, repair, and install frameworks, walls, floors, doors, windows, cabinets, and related structures
- Assist with concrete formwork, framing, and finishing activities
- Install siding, drywall, trim, moldings, and other interior and exterior finishing materials
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking equipment safely and effectively
- Repair and restore damaged wooden structures during renovation and restoration projects
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with safety standards
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials and equipment as required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Work closely with supervisors and team members to complete projects on schedule
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction specifications
- Strong understanding of carpentry methods, woodworking techniques, and building materials
- Experience with framing, finishing, siding installation, and general construction work
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment safely
- Knowledge of concrete formwork and related carpentry tasks
- Understanding of workplace safety regulations and construction best practices
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting materials and standing for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Experience in renovation and restoration projects is an asset
