Hours: Rotating Continental (Days/Nights) – 12-hour shifts
Payrate: $24.00/hr
Overtime Method: Averaging agreement over 88 hours

Job Overview:
Toronto Eaton Centre is one of Canada’s premier retail destinations, located in the heart of downtown Toronto. With high daily foot traffic, a large number of retailers, and continuous activity throughout the day, the site operates in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
As an Access Control Guard, you will play a key role in managing entry points, verifying access, and maintaining a strong security presence. This position requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to interact confidently with tenants, employees, vendors, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and control access points to ensure only authorized individuals enter restricted areas

Verify identification, credentials, and access permissions for employees, vendors, and contractors

Manage visitor sign-in processes and maintain accurate access logs

Maintain a visible and professional presence at assigned posts

Respond to access-related concerns, incidents, or escalations as required

Communicate with dispatch, supervisors, and patrol teams for coordination and support

Monitor site activity and report any suspicious behaviour or security concerns

Enforce site policies and access control procedures

Provide customer service by assisting with directions and general inquiries

Support emergency response procedures, including evacuations when required

Complete detailed reports and documentation related to access control and incidents
Prerequisites:
-
Ability to obtain a Security License in the province of Ontario
-
Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
-
Previous experience in access control, concierge, or front-facing security role preferred
-
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

High attention to detail when verifying credentials and managing access

Ability to remain calm and professional in a high-traffic environment

Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail setting

Basic computer skills and familiarity with access control systems is an asset

Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
