Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. This position is critical in ensuring our financial processes run smoothly and effectively. You will be responsible for managing customer accounts, processing payments, and maintaining accurate financial records, all while contributing to our commitment to quality and service that our customers expect.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, payment processing, and collections.
- Verify and post customer payments by recording cash receipts and applying them to the appropriate accounts.
- Monitor accounts for overdue payments and communicate with clients to resolve any outstanding issues.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including reports on accounts receivable status.
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure accurate account management and customer satisfaction.
- Assist in the monthly and year-end closing processes, ensuring all tasks related to accounts receivable are completed timely.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company policies, procedures, and systems related to accounts receivable.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in an accounts receivable or financial role, preferably within a distribution or retail environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team within a fast-paced environment.
