Master Your Courses is seeking an engaging and experienced provincially certified AP Physics teacher to deliver live online group instruction, lead educational webinars and masterclasses, and contribute to the development of high-quality AP Physics courses and learning materials.
We welcome teachers with experience in one or more of the following courses:
- AP Physics 1: Algebra-Based
- AP Physics 2: Algebra-Based
- AP Physics C: Mechanics
- AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism
Applicants are not required to have experience teaching every AP Physics course. You will be assigned responsibilities based on your specific area or areas of expertise.
The ideal candidate has strong AP Physics subject knowledge, excellent presentation skills and the ability to explain challenging concepts clearly to students. Because this position includes live webinars for students and parents, candidates should also be confident presenting to larger online audiences and answering questions in a professional and engaging manner.
ResponsibilitiesGroup Instruction
- Deliver engaging live online AP Physics group classes
- Teach content aligned with the current AP Physics course framework and exam requirements
- Explain challenging physics concepts using diagrams, demonstrations, real-world examples and structured problem-solving methods
- Help students prepare for AP multiple-choice and free-response questions
- Teach students how to organize calculations, justify reasoning and communicate solutions effectively
- Support students with unit tests, mock exams and official AP exam preparation
- Provide constructive feedback and identify areas in which students need additional support
- Maintain an organized, interactive and supportive online learning environment
Webinars and Masterclasses
- Lead live online AP Physics webinars and masterclasses for students and parents
- Present AP course expectations, exam structure, study strategies and common student challenges
- Deliver sample lessons and demonstrate effective AP Physics problem-solving strategies
- Answer questions from students and parents during live question-and-answer sessions
- Explain our educational programs clearly and professionally
- Collaborate with our team to prepare webinar presentations, lesson demonstrations and supporting materials
Course and Content Development
- Create and review AP Physics lesson plans, presentations and instructional materials
- Develop practice questions, worksheets, quizzes, unit assessments and mock exams
- Write and review AP-style multiple-choice and free-response questions
- Create clear answer explanations, scoring guidelines and worked solutions
- Develop outlines and scripts for recorded AP Physics lessons
- Review existing course materials for scientific accuracy, clarity and alignment with AP learning objectives
- Help organize course content into logical units and learning sequences
- Collaborate with tutors, content assistants and the education team to improve course quality and student outcomes
Requirements
- Valid provincial or territorial teaching certification in Canada
- Previous experience teaching at least one AP Physics course
- Strong understanding of the relevant AP Physics course framework, exam format and scoring expectations
- Excellent physics knowledge and problem-solving ability
- Experience teaching group classes in person or online
- Strong communication, presentation and classroom-management skills
- Comfortable leading live webinars and masterclasses for students and parents
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and adapt explanations to different learning levels
- Experience creating lesson plans, assessments or educational resources
- Comfortable using online teaching, video-conferencing and presentation platforms
- Reliable internet connection and a professional remote teaching environment
- Strong organization, preparation and time-management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- AP Summer Institute training, College Board workshops or other AP professional development
- Experience participating in the AP Course Audit
- Experience using AP Classroom
- Experience evaluating AP-style free-response questions
- Experience developing complete AP Physics courses or recorded lessons
- Experience presenting webinars, workshops or parent information sessions
- Experience teaching AP Physics C, particularly Mechanics or Electricity and Magnetism
- Experience using digital whiteboards, simulations and virtual physics demonstrations
Pay: $50.00-$70.00 per hour
