Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for mechanical projects ranging from mixed-use low and mid-rise residential/commercial developments to purpose-built commercial and light industrial projects across the Lower Mainland, supporting project managers, and ensuring competitive pricing. This role requires strong technical knowledge of construction estimating, mechanical systems, and proficiency with industry-specific software tools. The Mechanical Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, suppliers and subcontractors to deliver precise and timely estimates that align with project scope and budget.
Duties
- Prepare comprehensive mechanical cost estimates for construction projects using Trimble Autobid.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope of work and material requirements.
- Develop detailed pricing strategies by sourcing competitive bids from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with project management teams to develop estimating timelines & budgets.
- Assist in the review of site instructions, change orders, and scope modifications throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support project management in risk assessment and value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and related documentation for future reference and audits.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating, particularly within the mechanical and HVAC sectors.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu for markup and document management.
- Proficiency with Trimble estimating system.
- Solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in cost calculations.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with subtrades, vendors, and internal teams.
