Join CEASE in supporting survivors of sexual exploitation, human trafficking, and sexual violence. As a Trauma Therapist, you will provide trauma-informed individual counselling, small group facilitation, and crisis support for clients navigating complex trauma and high-stress situations, including court preparation. This part-time contract role (2 afternoons/week) is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals while working with a collaborative, mission-driven team.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 trauma-informed counselling, using modalities such as EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, or Trauma-Focused CBT.
- Facilitate small therapeutic groups focused on emotional regulation, resilience, boundaries, and healing.
- Support clients experiencing acute distress, panic, or dissociation, particularly before court appearances or legal processes.
- Collaborate with CEASE staff and community partners (e.g., victim services, Crown, shelters).
- Maintain accurate, confidential clinical documentation and case notes.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and case conferences.
- Practice cultural safety, particularly with Indigenous, newcomer, LGBTQ2S+, and other marginalized populations.
Experience & Qualifications
- Registered Social Worker (RSW/RSW-Clinical), Psychologist, or Psychotherapist in good standing.
- Minimum 3 years of trauma-informed clinical experience, preferably with survivors of sexual exploitation, trafficking, sexual assault, or domestic violence.
- Experience with EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, or other trauma-focused modalities preferred.
- Experience facilitating group therapy or psychoeducational sessions.
- Skilled in crisis intervention, grounding techniques, and emotional regulation for high-anxiety clients.
- Knowledge of court processes and the unique needs of survivors facing legal proceedings is an asset.
- Strong cultural competency, particularly with Indigenous communities and other marginalized populations.
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Pay: $60.00-$90.00 per hour
