Position Overview
We are looking for a reliable and personable Theatre Manager / Projectionist to oversee daily theatre operations during their shift. This role combines staff supervision, theatre equipment operation, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for guests. No prior projection experience is required — training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Technical
- Operate digital projection and audio equipment for scheduled screenings (training provided)
- Monitor film presentations to ensure high-quality picture and sound
- Perform basic equipment checks and report technical issues as needed
Staff Management
- Supervise and support theatre staff during shifts
- Coordinate staff schedules and assign duties during busy periods
- Provide guidance and help maintain a positive team environment
Customer Experience & Crowd Management
- Ensure guests have a safe and enjoyable experience
- Manage lobby and theatre flow during busy showtimes
- Address customer concerns or complaints in a professional manner
- Maintain order and enforce theatre policies when necessary
General Operations
- Assist with opening and closing procedures
- Ensure theatres and lobby areas remain clean and organized
- Support concession and front-of-house operations when required
Schedule
- Evening shifts and weekend matinee shifts required
- Some holidays and peak movie release weekends expected
Qualifications
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Comfortable working with the public and managing groups of people
- Reliable, responsible, and able to remain calm in busy situations
- Basic comfort with technology and troubleshooting equipment
- Previous customer service or supervisory experience is an asset but not required
