Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide specialized therapeutic services to WSIB patients who are dealing with mental health issues. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients' recovery and quality of life through personalized treatment plans and patient-centered care. The Occupational Therapist must be competent in providing the controlled act of Psychotherapy.
Duties
- Assess patients’ physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities to determine appropriate therapy interventions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs and goals
- Provide therapeutic activities aimed at improving daily living skills, motor functions, and overall independence
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and case managers to coordinate patient care
- Document patient progress accurately and maintain detailed medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Educate patients and their families on therapy techniques, adaptive equipment, and strategies for ongoing recovery
- Monitor patient responses to treatments and adjust plans accordingly to optimize outcomes
- Participate in discharge planning and case management to ensure seamless transition of care
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Ontario
- Prior experience working in the field of community mental health
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to occupational therapy and patient care
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases effectively while providing compassionate patient care
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with healthcare teams and education of patients and families

Pay: $60.00-$70.00 per hour
