Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our transportation team. This role involves operating heavy-duty trucks to transport aggregates efficiently and safely across designated routes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, vehicle maintenance, and safety protocols. Experience with heavy equipment, is considered a plus, enhancing the ability to handle various aspects of the job effectively.
Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 trucks to deliver freight to various locations according to schedule.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load with heavy equipment (loader) when necessary.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies.
- Perform basic repairs or troubleshooting as needed to ensure vehicle readiness.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies during transportation activities.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment handling, and automotive repair is advantageous.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently in various environments.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation and compliance.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy loads and performing vehicle inspections.
- Commitment to safety, punctuality, and professional conduct at all times.
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
