Maple Veterinary Specialists is an independently owned specialty referral hospital opening in Burnaby, BC in Summer 2026. Founded by Dr. Lawrence Brown, DVM, MS, DACVR, our hospital is committed to delivering advanced veterinary specialty care through a collaborative, compassionate, and patient-centred approach. Upon opening, we will offer Surgery, Oncology and Outpatient Diagnostic Imaging services, working closely with the referring veterinary community to support patients and their families throughout the Lower Mainland.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) for each department to become part of our growing team. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a new specialty hospital from the ground up and contribute to building the practice we envisioned.
The Role
As an RVT at Maple Veterinary Specialists, you will play an integral role in the delivery of exceptional patient care while supporting our clients and specialists in a fast-paced referral environment. This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced medical technology, complex cases, and a highly collaborative team committed to clinical excellence.
Responsibilities
· Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients and outpatients
· Assist with specialty procedures, diagnostics, and treatments
· Monitor sedation/anesthesia and recover patients following surgical and diagnostic procedures
· Perform laboratory sample collection, in-house laboratory testing and processing samples for outside laboratory testing
· Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by our veterinarians
· Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation
· Educate and support clients through their pet’s treatment journey
· Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, safety procedures and infection control standards
· Contribute to a positive, respectful and team-oriented workplace culture
Qualifications
· Registered Veterinary Technician in good standing, or eligible for registration in British Columbia
· Strong technical and patient care skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
· Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
· Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate patient and client care
· Specialty or referral hospital experience is considered an asset but is not required
Pay: $26.00-$36.00 per hour
