Job Summary
Seeking a detail-oriented, committed and organized Medical Office Assistant to join a solo medical specialty practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the office by providing exceptional administrative support. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail and experience with electronic medical records systems (Accuro). Familiarity with medical office environments is essential.
Responsibilities
- Greet and register patients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Schedule, confirm and reschedule appointments to optimize office efficiency.
- Verify patient OHIP information and update electronic medical records
- Maintain accurate patient records using the Accuro electronic medical records (EMR) system
- Assist with the completion of insurance forms and other necessary documentation.
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies.
- Manage incoming calls, emails, and inquiries, providing information as needed, evaluating the nature and urgency of calls.
- Ensure the office environment is clean, organized, and welcoming for patients.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate patient care and communication.
Qualifications
- 2 or more years of previous experience in a medical office or dental office setting is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems, particularly Accuro.
- Computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on providing friendly, efficient service..
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Adherance to confidentiality standards to protect patient information.
- Willingness to learn and to problem-solving skills are essential.
- Certification in medical administration is preferred.
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
