Supportive Roommate
Calgary Progressive Lifestyles Foundation is seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Supportive Roommate in SE or SW Calgary, Alberta.
This unique opportunity involves sharing your home with an adult male with a disability who enjoys music, meeting new people, and going for walks. As a Supportive Roommate, you will help foster independence, personal growth, community involvement, and overall well-being in a supportive home environment.

About the Role
Supportive Roommates play an important role in assisting individuals with disabilities to participate in recreational, social, and community activities while promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive living environment.
This is a rewarding opportunity to build meaningful connections and positively impact someone’s daily life.
Please note: A home inspection will be required to ensure suitability before moving forward in the selection process.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Police Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Check (issued within the past two years)
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable personality
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities is considered an asset
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Successful candidates must provide $2 million third-party liability vehicle insurance
- Valid First Aid Level C certification (required within 3 months of hire)
- Successful candidates must obtain General Commercial Liability Insurance
Home Environment Requirements
To ensure the best fit for the individual supported, applicants must have:
- A detached home located in SE or SW Calgary
- A home without minors or pets
- A nut and peanut-free environment
- A walk-in shower available for accessibility and safety purposes
- Comfort with day support staff working within the home during scheduled support hours
Training Provided
The following training will be provided at cost:
- Medication Administration Training
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
- Abuse Protocol Training
- Positive Behaviour Support Training
