Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Server/Cashier to join our dynamic team in providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for taking orders, processing payments, and ensuring a positive dining experience for all guests. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food preparation, cashiering, and customer engagement within the food industry. Previous restaurant or food service experience is preferred but not required, as training will be provided. The Server/Cashier plays a vital role in maintaining sanitation standards, managing time effectively, and upselling menu items to enhance sales.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and take their food and beverage orders accurately using POS systems such as Micros POS
- Process cash and card transactions efficiently, ensuring accurate cash handling and basic math calculations
- Prepare and serve food items according to safety and sanitation standards, including food handling and food safety protocols
- Upsell menu items to increase sales and enhance customer satisfaction
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, workstation, and kitchen surfaces following sanitation guidelines
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve multiple tables promptly
- Assist with food preparation when necessary, supporting kitchen staff with basic tasks
- Ensure all serving and cashiering duties are performed with professionalism and a positive attitude
Requirements
- Previous food service or restaurant experience preferred; familiarity with the food industry is a plus
- Experience with POS systems such as Micros POS is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and making change accurately
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing time effectively
- Kitchen or food preparation experience is beneficial but not mandatory
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
