BrainTrust Canada is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and motivated individual to join our team as a Community Brain Injury Rehabilitation Facilitator.

About the Role
This is a permanent part-time position (25 hours per week) based exclusively from our Kelowna office. The successful candidate will provide direct client care through a combination of brain injury-specific group program facilitation and one-to-one rehabilitation support.
Our group programs are designed to promote recovery, independence, and social connection, and may include wellness and healthy living, cognitive strategy development, communication and social skills, life skills, recreation and leisure, creative expression, community integration, education, and peer support. Programs are designed to help participants build confidence, strengthen everyday skills, and improve overall quality of life following brain injury.
One-to-one support focuses on helping participants achieve individualized rehabilitation goals through community integration, participation in meaningful activities, life skills development, recreation, appointments, and other community-based opportunities that promote independence, confidence, and quality of life.
Working alongside an experienced interdisciplinary team, you will help participants achieve meaningful goals while promoting independence, inclusion, and active participation within their community.
Key Responsibilities
Group Program Facilitation
Facilitate a variety of engaging, brain injury-specific group programs designed to support:
- Cognitive and life skills development
- Health and wellness
- Social connection
- Community participation
- Recreation and leisure
- Education and personal growth
Individual Client Support
Provide one-to-one rehabilitation support that may include:
- Supporting clients with community integration and participation
- Accompanying clients to recreational, educational, and community activities
- Assisting clients in developing daily living and life skills
- Supporting individualized rehabilitation goals
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and self-advocacy
- Building meaningful community connections
- Providing person-centred, strengths-based support in both office and community settings
Documentation
- Maintain accurate and timely client documentation
- Complete required progress notes and program records
- Follow organizational policies, privacy legislation, and professional standards
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
We're looking for someone who has:
- Related post-secondary education in Human Services, Community Support, Disability Studies, Social Services, Recreation Therapy, Psychology, Rehabilitation Assistance, or a related field
- Experience supporting individuals living with acquired brain injury, disabilities, mental health challenges, or other vulnerable populations is considered an asset
- A valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Knowledge of, or training in, trauma-informed, culturally informed, and person-centred practice, or a willingness to learn
- Foundational knowledge of de-escalation, redirection, and behaviour support strategies, with the ability to respond calmly and respectfully to individuals experiencing cognitive, emotional, or behavioural challenges
- An understanding of the impacts of acquired brain injury on cognition, memory, communication, behaviour, emotional regulation, fatigue, and executive functioning, or a willingness to develop this knowledge
- The ability to adapt communication styles, activities, and support approaches to meet the unique needs and abilities of each participant
- Sound professional judgement, appropriate boundaries, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- A positive, flexible, creative, and solution-focused approach to supporting clients in achieving meaningful rehabilitation goals
