Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
- Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from the head chef or kitchen manager.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, utensils, and equipment.
- Ensure all food handling practices comply with food safety regulations.
- Monitor food quality during preparation and cooking to ensure it meets our standards.
- Help with inventory management by tracking stock levels and reporting shortages.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food handling best practices.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools used in food preparation.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations within the food industry.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards helping others in the kitchen.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
