Medical Call Centre Booking Agent
Position Summary
Reporting to the Central Booking Supervisor, the Medical Call Centre Booking Agent is responsible for managing patient scheduling activities and supporting the daily operations of the Central Booking Department. The successful candidate will provide exceptional customer service, ensure accurate appointment booking, and contribute to a positive patient experience through professional and timely communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer and manage a high volume of incoming calls across multiple phone lines.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments based on clinical requirements, provider availability, and room scheduling needs.
- Respond to online appointment requests and patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure patient bookings comply with organizational policies, procedures, and scheduling guidelines.
- Provide accurate information to patients and direct inquiries to the appropriate department or team member when necessary.
- Process and manage incoming faxed requisitions and related documentation.
- Maintain accurate patient records and appointment information within scheduling systems.
- Deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality and professionalism.
- Support departmental operations and perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in a medical office, healthcare setting, customer service environment, or call centre role preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with a professional and courteous telephone manner.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately follow procedures and instructions.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative within the scope of the role.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Patient-focused approach with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
- Experience with medical scheduling software or electronic medical records (EMR) systems is considered an asset.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
