JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Lands Director and Lead Negotiator, the Lands and Negotiations Administrator provide administrative, technical, and project coordination support to the Kátł'odeeche First Nation Lands Department. Working as part of a collaborative team of three, this position supports initiatives related to Treaty Land Entitlement, reserve land management, Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas (IPCAs), environmental stewardship, consultation, community engagement, and negotiations with government, Indigenous, and industry partners.
Kátł'odeeche First Nation is seeking a highly organized and motivated individual who is passionate about supporting Indigenous rights, protecting traditional lands, and advancing the Nation's long-term priorities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide administrative and project support to the Lands and Negotiations Department.
· Coordinate meetings with Chief and Council, Elders, community members, government representatives, consultants, and partner organizations.
· Prepare agendas, meeting packages, minutes, correspondence, reports, presentations, and briefing materials.
· Maintain confidential records, agreements, maps, databases, and project files.
· Assist with the administration of Treaty Land Entitlement (TLE), reserve land initiatives, and land governance projects.
· Support Indigenous Protected and Conserved Area (IPCA) planning and implementation activities.
· Coordinate community engagement sessions, workshops, and public meetings.
· Assist in developing policies, procedures, and strategic planning documents.
· Coordinate travel arrangements and logistics for meetings and community events.
· Maintain effective communication with community members and external partners.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
· Must have excellent communication skills, analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook) and highly skilled in Adobe Acrobat.
· Must be able to work well under pressure and manage change.
· Ability to act with discretion when handling confidential information.
· Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
· Class 5 Drivers License
