We are a brand new female owned and operated dental clinic seeking a professional and organized dental receptionist to join our dental practice in Centretown West. This clinic was meticulously designed for staff comfort, including noise reduction engineering, air purification in every room, ergonomic setup and plenty of natural light. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth daily operations of the front desk. Strong communication skills, a positive attitude and work ethic are most important for us. However, this role also requires strong administrative skills, familiarity with dental office procedures, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Prior experience with electronic medical records and dental software is preferred, although training will be offered! Bonus points for those with dental assisting experience or those who are openminded to learning to assist the dentist when needed.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in/check-out processes
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments using cloud based dental software
- Verify patient insurance information and process billing accordingly
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly and professionally
- Collect payments and explain financial policies to patients
- Manage correspondence, including emails and appointment reminders
- Ensure the reception area is tidy and welcoming at all times
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and inventory management
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow throughout the day
Skills
- Proven experience as a dental receptionist or in a dental/medical office setting
- Familiarity with dental software
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry and healthcare
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Prior office experience, including administrative tasks and front desk responsibilities, is highly desirable
- Openness to dental assisting and cross training is beneficial
- Knowledge of insurance processing and billing procedures in a dental context is a plus
