Overview
The Palletizer is responsible for effective flow of finished goods from Checking to safe, secure pallet stacking for transport. Ensure contents of shipping box and pallet are correctly filled, loaded, identified, and stacked according to customer specification.
Responsibilities
- Ability to build pallets in pattern by customer specification.
- Ability to use the wrap machine effectively and safely.
- Ensure that pallets are securely strapped with cardboard edge protectors and poly green strapping.
- Ability to position pallets among loads being assembled for shipment.
- Ability to inspect boxes for inaccuracies and complete corrective measures as required.
- Perform data entry for major re-works as needed.
- Ensure assembled loads for shipping are near shipping door to minimize forklift travel and avoiding obstructing other plant activities.
- Load shipment onto correct tractor trailer in accordance with customer requirements and ensure load is stable and secure for transit.
- Ability to offload cargo and store safety in temporary locations. Noting any missing/damaged/defective items on Packing Slip for review by Shipper/Receiver.
- Ensure accurate, complete shipping and receiving related documentation.
- Ensure that products are produced consistently meeting or exceeding established criteria. This includes, following established procedures, quality control checks, and the desire to satisfy customer expectations.
- Fulfill duties in a safe, responsible manner in keeping with plant safety guidelines, safe work practices, and applicable regulations.
- Ability to effectively react to change and undertake other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Forklift certification (an asset)
