Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable, professional, and self-motivated Full-Time Maintenance Person for a residential apartment building. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and day-to-day operation of the property while providing respectful and professional service to tenants. Responsibilities
- · Work in a team environment
· Perform general maintenance and repair duties throughout the building and grounds.
· Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner.
· Conduct routine inspections of common areas, mechanical rooms, hallways, stairwells, laundry rooms, and exterior grounds.
· Perform preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
· Respond to maintenance emergencies and after-hours calls when required.
· Rotation of On Call days as required co-ordinated with other staff. Applicants should be able to attend the facility within 15 to 20 minutes.
· Maintain cleanliness and safety of exterior walkways, entrances, parking areas, and garbage areas.
· Participate in unit inspections with Housing Manager
· Seasonal duties including snow removal, salting, lawn care, and sanding.
· Report concerns to management.
· Coordinate with contractors and service providers when required.
· Assist with apartment unit turnovers including painting, cleaning, minor repairs, and inspections.
· Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and company policies.
· Perform monthly Health and Safety requirements and document
· Help with inventory
· Maintain professional and respectful communication with tenants, staff, contractors, and visitors.
Requirements
· Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, drywall, and basic mechanical systems.
· Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
· Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Physically capable of lifting, climbing stairs, shoveling snow, and performing manual labour.
· Valid driver’s licence.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
· Valid police check is required if hired
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
