Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Building Product Solutions Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a product specialist, providing expert guidance on our product offerings and solutions tailored to cash and carry clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in building product application, combined with excellent sales and presentation skills. This position offers an exciting opportunity to help clients source the best options through the innovative products and solutions that NorStar is able to offer.
Responsibilities
* Follow all Company attendance and behavioral policies, procedures, and expectations, including the NorStar Exteriors Code of Conduct.
* Maintain a positive, proactive, and professional attitude at all times.
* Answer phone calls promptly and courteously, providing primary support to ensure excellent customer communication.
* Assist retail customers in the showroom and at the front counter with pricing and product knowledge and general inquiries ensuring a positive and professional experience.
* Primary point of Contact to take orders for Custom Metal Fabrication.
* Coordinate with Warehouse Team Lead regarding work flow for Custom Metal Fabricator
* Respond to all correspondence in a timely and professional manner to maintain clear communication.
* Ensure that customer needs and expectations are met, following through with entire sales cycle where applicable.
* Collect outstanding amounts due from customers ensuring they remain in good standing.
* Manage any house accounts assigned as directed by Retail Sales Team Lead, such as repeat contractors and customers in same industry.
* Open or Close down the showroom following established procedures.
* Consult with clients and vendors in order to formulate material estimates.
* Prepare accurate quotes and orders based on:
A. Customer Provided dimensions
B. Customer Provided Plans (you will perform take offs)
C. Customer provided material Lists
D. In-House Supplied measurements
E. In-House Supplied Material lists
* Prepare accurate documentation for sales, customer interactions, and product inquiries.
* Locate and obtain merchandise and samples based on customers' needs or requests.
* Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions.
* Support the Retail Sales Team Lead to conduct and promote all sales promotions.
* Help promote and launch new innovative products, with positivity and enthusiasm.
* Arrange arrivals and pick-ups of products, ensuring smooth and timely order fulfillment.
* Attend retail meetings as required to stay informed and contribute to team discussions.
* Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the showroom, also well as setting up merchandizing displays.
* Maintain and organize collateral, sample display racks, and overstock areas.
* Attend product knowledge training sessions as required for further education and stay updated on new products.
* Represent Norstar at community events, displaying a positive and professional attitude.
* Participate in trade shows as required, engaging with potential customers and industry professionals.
* Maintain strong and productive working relationship with suppliers.
* Perform tasks that enhance NorStar's sales performance and customer service.
* Perform other duties as assigned, maintaining a positive and proactive attitude.
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail sales within the construction sector.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills to meet demands of the job.
- High attention to detail.
- Courteous and interested in providing superior customer service.
- Strong communication skills including listening and following direction, both verbal and written, to ensure the work is performed satisfactorily.
- Ability to work independently while in a productive manner.
- Communicate professionally with all team members, supervisors, and customers.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Strong computer skills not limited to Microsoft office. Operating knowledge of Jonas Management Systems would be considered an advantage.
Pay: $46,000.00-$48,000.00 per year
