On-Top Industries Ltd is one of the most innovative roofing companies in Canada and currently receives Government research and development funding for innovations undertaken during those times when weather does not permit roofing installs. Therefore, we willing and able to keep staff full time in economic downturns and poor weather.
On-Top Industries Ltd. delivers nothing less than absolute excellence to our customers and will not settle for less, while simultaneously driving innovations in safety, productivity, machinery, and other process applications in the roofing industry. We want a qualified and experienced roofer who can be mentored to run a roofing crew or crews, and think outside the box to deliver roofing systems better and faster by a wide margin than our competitors. If that is you, then know and understand that we pay better than the industry average and 1.5 overtime and lots of it during the roofing season. Most weekends are off but on occasion we want roofers to rise to the challenge when required to work through if needed. Some minimal out of town work and generous per diem expenses when called to do so. A generous performance bonus system is in place to reward high performance measured on a bi-weekly pay schedule and a doubling of that bonus at year end if 85% weekly bonuses are achieved throughout the year.
The Candidate:
The candidate will be a natural team player with above all a good attitude and a willingness to push him or herself to challenge and inspire others. Loyalty, commitment, but with a willingness to think independently is a must. A good working knowledge of flat roofing systems of all types is required particularly TPO, EPDM and Torch On and perhaps a bit of Vinyl PVC and metal installation. (Cross training is provided in various roof types for those with experience in one or more systems but lacking in another). Honesty, integrity, experience and ambition to learn and achieve shall take precedence over any other learned skills in the roofing industry. A knowledge and skill in other trades and industries is also beneficial as we are into innovation in a big way.
Absolutely no drug or alcohol abuse will be tolerated including the off hours use of recreational marijuana which can readily be measured by the foolish stupidity it induces. You will not fool anyone for long at On-Top Industries Ltd. If you indulge in such nonsense; - Don’t waste your time here. Move on to some other company with lower standards where you can hide as you won’t even last one week here!
Roofers responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Install, repair or replace single-ply and multi-ply roofing systems.
- Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other surfaces
- Install and repair metal flashings at perimeters and roofs using hand and power tools
Education and Experience
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in the flat roofing industry
- Apprenticeship, journeyman, or red seal certification is an asset
- Safety tickets like Aerial work platform, Fall arrest, First Aid, Rough Terrain Forklift will be an asset
- Other experience in other trades such as welding, etc. an asset.
Wages – Minimum $35.00/hour, Maximum is depending on experience and training. Year-round work, full time. Training and Development are given. I am willing to match pay of most recent pay stub plus offer 10% performance bonus above that for right candidate.
