Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director, Child Care Services & Pedagogy, the Child Care Supervisor is responsible for the overall leadership, operation, administration, and quality of operations at an assigned child care site. The Supervisor provides operational leadership, guidance, and support to educators and support staff while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, inclusive, and compliant early learning and child care programs in accordance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), the College of Early Childhood Educators Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, OCOF/Nena’s Program Statement, and organizational policies. The Supervisor plays a key role in fostering employee engagement and success, promoting a positive workplace culture, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring exceptional experiences for children and families.

Qualifications & SKILLS:
1. Education & Certificates
· Post-Secondary Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) from a recognized institution;
· Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) and in good standing;
· Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C (or willingness to obtain);
· Current Food Handlers (or willingness to obtain);
· Current Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check (within 6 months);
· Current valid Ontario class “G” driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (required).
2. Experience
· Minimum three (3) years of child care experience in a licensed child care environment.
· Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, mentoring, or team coordination experience.
· Strong knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), licensing requirements, and the College of Early Childhood Educators Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
· Experience supporting employee performance, program quality, and regulatory compliance is considered an asset.
3. Skills
· Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
· Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and support staff development
· Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
· Ability to exercise sound judgement while managing competing priorities and making effective decisions in a dynamic operational environment.
· Strong administrative and computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and organizational information systems
· Strong understanding of child-centred and inclusive learning practices
· Ability to work collaboratively with families, community partners, and multidisciplinary teams
Additional considerations:
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and competing demands.
· Regular travel within the service area is required to support program operations, family engagement, meetings, community partnerships, and organizational needs.
· Ability to lift and carry up to 16 kg (40 lbs); including frequent bending, floor play, cleaning, and room setup/take-down.
· Regular cleaning and sanitization duties in accordance with organizational policies and health and safety requirements.
· Flexibility to respond to operational needs as they arise.
