Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Food & Beverage, this position is responsible for serving the guests at a counter, in a restaurant, buffet operation, coffee shop, on a casino floor, in a bar, at a ba nquet, in a theatre, in in-room dining or other areas. Ensures adherence to all polices and procedures while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. Ensures adherence to the Company�s policies and procedu res, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian�s learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Key Accountabilities
- Greets guests by name wher ever possible
- Escorts guests to a table when applicable; presents menus; informs guests of daily specials
- Explains how various menu items or beverages are prepared
- Takes the guest orders; makes recommendations
- Serves the guests; checks to ensure satisfaction
- Prepares food and beverages if applicable
- Resolves guests issues or asks management for assistance
- Presents bill upon request; takes payment in the absence of a cashier
- Cleans table s or counters; removes dishes; re-stocks where applicable
- Delivers food to hotel rooms as directed; obtains signature; removes used trays
- Performs opening or closing duties as required
- Counts cash float at end of shift when a pplicable
- Covers other servers� sections when required
- Exercises good judgment when serving alcoholic beverages
- Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
- Develops and cultivates st rong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership and team members
- Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed
Education and Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 1 year serving experience effective and service oriented communication
- POS experience
- Food Safety Certification
- Ability to successfully ob tain a Gaming License
- Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely,
Work Environment Considerations
