Casual Cook 2 - Various Locations across PEI
This position is responsible for preparing, cooking and distributing safe, nutritious, and appetizing food to residents and staff. This position will involve shift work.
Duties will include but will not be limited to:
- assisting in preparation of special diet items as required;
- supervising meal distribution and portioning during meal service;
- assisting Dietitian and Food Service Supervisor with menu planning;
- operating institutional equipment;
- assisting with orientation and training of new staff;
- supervising Nutrition Services staff in the absence of the Food Service Supervisor and Food Service Manager;
- baking;
- other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Applicants must have successful completion of Grade 12 and a professional cooking program from a recognized institution or Red Seal Certification.
- Applicants must have two years’ recent cooking/baking experience in a commercial or institutional setting where substantial food quantities are prepared
- The successful applicant must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions.
- The successful applicant must have a good previous work and attendance record.
Salary Range: $37.53 per hour (Casual Rate of Pay)
Bi-Weekly Hours: On-Call Basis / 5:30am – 1:30pm / 10:30am – 6:30pm
