About Our Client
Our client, a professional services firm located in downtown Toronto, is looking to hire a
Data and Analytics Specialist for an initial 6 month contract with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities:
- Build both operational and analytical data solutions, including datasets and queries, visualizations, KPIs and dashboards, and operational reports that support project, day-to-day and ad hoc business needs across Student Services.
- Design and maintain reporting across both the current Education Program and the new Education Program, navigating between legacy and new data sources to ensure continuity and accuracy throughout the transformation.
- Develop solutions that reflect the highest standards of analytical rigor and data integrity, applying best practices in test design, analysis, validation, and documentation across every deliverable.
- Partner with business units to gain a detailed understanding of data solutions requirements and source system functionality, and translate those needs into clear, well-designed reporting and analytics deliverables.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the organization’s business processes, source system usage and available internal and external data sources, and produce thorough requirements and solutions documentation to support long-term maintainability.
Requirements:
- Successful completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Analytics and/or Mathematics.
- 5+ years of experience in SQL programming, including querying data and building objects such as tables, views, stored procedures and functions. Experience in data warehousing or DataMart development using SQL as an ETL delivery implementation is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience using Power BI, including building paginated reports using Power BI Report Builder.
- 3+ years of experience with Databricks or equivalent for query building and procedure writing, including work in Unity Catalog, Hive Metastore, SQL Editor and Notebooks.
- 3+ years of experience building reports within a CRM system, such as Salesforce (preferred) or Microsoft Dynamics.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, relationship-building and presentation skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences at coordinator, specialist, manager and director levels
