Job description:
Prep Doctors is seeking a skilled and reliable Facilities & Equipment Service Technician to support the day-to-day operation of our training facilities and dental laboratories. This hands-on role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of facility and dental equipment, ensuring that labs, classrooms, and equipment remain operational and ready for use.
The successful candidate will respond promptly to maintenance requests and service tickets, diagnose and resolve issues as they arise, and perform scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment and facility systems. The role requires flexibility to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends based on operational requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair dental and facility equipment.
- Respond to service tickets and maintenance requests in a timely manner and resolve operational issues as they arise.
- Support the daily operation of training labs and classrooms to ensure equipment remains functional and available for use.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment located in laboratory mechanical rooms, including compressors, suction systems, pumps, and related infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Conduct facility maintenance and minor repairs.
- Set up, relocate, and move equipment, furniture, and classroom materials as required.
- Assist with purchases, pickups, deliveries, and transportation of equipment and supplies using a company vehicle.
- Safely handle and coordinate the disposal of amalgam waste, sharps containers, and other regulated waste in accordance with applicable regulations and company procedures.
- Maintain maintenance logs, inventories, and service records.
- Travel between company locations, including Mississauga and Richmond Hill.
- Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Post-secondary education in a technical field such as electrical, electronics, mechanical, industrial maintenance, electromechanical technology, or a related discipline is an asset.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in equipment maintenance, facilities maintenance, service technician work, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Experience servicing compressors, vacuum/suction systems, pumps, or similar equipment is an asset.
- Experience working with dental equipment is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work throughout the shift.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and move heavy equipment and materials.
- Comfortable working in classrooms, laboratories, storage areas, and mechanical rooms.
Schedule:
- Flexible schedule based on operational requirements.
- Availability to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends is required.
Pay: $25.00 per hour
