We are currently seeking a 3rd Year Crane Operator Apprentice to join our Supply Chain team. This is an excellent opportunity for an apprentice looking to continue developing their skills while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Position Summary
The 3rd Year Crane Operator Apprentice is responsible for the safe movement of materials throughout our fabrication shop and yard, supporting manufacturing, shipping, and receiving operations. Working alongside experienced team members, you will operate a variety of heavy equipment while continuing to build your knowledge and skills in the trade.
Responsibilities
- Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, bobcats, zoom booms, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform yard maintenance and material handling activities.
- Inspect rigging and lifting equipment prior to use.
- Load, unload, move, and stage materials throughout the facility.
- Work closely with the Shipping & Receiving department to support daily operations.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Registered 3rd Year Crane Operator Apprentice (preferred).
- Alberta Hoisting Ticket or actively progressing through the apprenticeship program.
- Training in safe rigging and load securement.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
- Mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to work overtime when required.
Preferred Qualifications
The following certifications would be considered assets:
- Fall Protection
- CSTS
- Standard First Aid
- Experience operating:
- Overhead Cranes
- Forklifts
- Bobcat
- Zoom Boom
- Telehandler
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Comfortable working in both shop and outdoor yard environments.
- Ability to meet production deadlines in a physically demanding role.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $38.97 per hour
