Administrator – Long-Term Care / Senior Care

Position Details
- 3–6 month contract with possibility of extension
- $85/hour
- Accommodations provided for candidates residing outside of the Sudbury region
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Board, Regional Director, or Corporate Designate, the Administrator will:
- Oversee operational and capital resources across all departments.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, regulations, and organizational standards.
- Foster positive labour relations and maintain a professional, collaborative workplace culture.
- Lead quality improvement and risk management initiatives using evidence-based best practices.
- Promote effective communication and employee engagement to support a healthy work environment.
- Provide leadership within a multi-union environment.
- Manage annual operating budgets and oversee the effective use of financial, physical, and human resources.
- Ensure residents receive compassionate, personalized care that supports dignity, safety, and well-being.
- Ensure the home meets or exceeds all requirements under the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 and other applicable legislation.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree (minimum 3 years) or diploma (minimum 2 years) in health, business, or social services.
- Completion of a Ministry-approved long-term care home administration program (minimum 100 instructional hours).
- Successful completion of the Ontario Fire Safety Training for Owners/Operators course, or willingness to complete.
- Proven experience with Accreditation processes and maintaining standards
Strong working knowledge of:
- Fixing Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2021
- Retirement Homes Act, 2010
- College of Nurses of Ontario Standards and Best Practices
- Regulated Health Professionals Act
- PHIPA and other relevant legislation
- Experience in senior care leadership preferred.
- Experience working within a multi-union environment preferred.
- Bilingualism considered an asset.
- Current Two-Step TB Test.
- Proof of current flu immunization according to policy.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check (within the past 6 months).
