Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint and coatings, and ensuring high-quality finishes on various products and structures. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure proper adhesion of paint or coatings
- Apply paint, stains, or coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment with attention to detail
- Operate machinery such as cranes and forklifts safely when moving materials or equipment as needed
- Perform routine inspections to identify surface imperfections and address them before painting
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for surface preparation and finishing tasks
- Follow safety protocols related to the use of welding equipment and other manufacturing machinery
- Assist in assembly or machining processes as required to support production goals
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly disposing of waste materials and cleaning tools after use
- Adhere to lean manufacturing practices to optimize workflow efficiency
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge including familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welding, and machining techniques
- Experience operating cranes and forklifts is preferred
- Strong understanding of basic math for measurements and calculations during preparation and application processes
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to improve productivity and reduce waste
- Ability to perform assembly tasks accurately within tight deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality finishes
- Good communication skills for teamwork and safety compliance
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials when necessary
