Job description
- Maintaining patient confidentiality
- Ensuring physician and administrative productivity by maintaining calendars; scheduling patient appointments; professional meetings, conferences, etc using Practice Solutions Software
- Assisting in effective communication between physicians and patients by responding to incoming telephone calls/voicemails, emails, etc
- Ensuring office flow by receiving, checking in, and guiding scheduled patients and visitors; screening unscheduled patients and visitors; maintaining clinic room supplies inventory by checking stock and anticipating needs
- Organizing correspondence by answering phone calls, sorting and distributing mail, distributing electronic faxes, scanning paper and electronic records or faxes, and faxing and mailing correspondence
- Performing other related duties within the clinic may be assigned

- Calm business-like demeanour
- Strong familiarity with electronic medical records with knowledge of medical terminology
- Work effectively independently and in a team environment
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent record of punctuality and attendance
- Ability to fill in as needed for staff vacations is an asset
- PS Suite/Telus Health-mandatory
Experience:
· Medical Receptionist/Secretary: 2 year minimum- PS Suite/Telus Health experience is mandatory
