Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sushi Preparer to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of food safety standards. This role involves preparing high-quality sushi dishes in a fast-paced restaurant environment, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests. The Sushi Preparer will work closely with kitchen staff to maintain cleanliness, efficiency, and consistency in all sushi offerings.
Responsibilities
- Prepare fresh sushi and sashimi according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Handle food with care, adhering to proper food handling and safety protocols
- Assist in the preparation of other Japanese dishes and accompaniments as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area
- Ensure all ingredients are stored properly and rotated regularly to maintain freshness
- Follow all food safety regulations and sanitation procedures diligently
- Serve customers at the sushi bar or assist with food service as required
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of orders during busy periods
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, especially in sushi or Japanese cuisine, is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling techniques
- Experience in serving or working in a restaurant environment is advantageous
- Strong skills in food industry practices, including meal preparation and cooking techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Kitchen experience or background in the food service industry is highly desirable
- A passion for culinary arts and commitment to delivering high-quality dishes

Pay: $18.00-$28.00 per hour
