Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Part-time Bookkeeper to help manage finances at our Portuguese Bakery. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring the integrity of our accounting data. The Proficiency in Quickbooks is highly desirable, along with a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting our financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage and record financial transactions using QuickBooks
- Reconcile bank statements and account balances to ensure accuracy
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and collections
- Perform account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities
- Assist with payroll processing and related reporting tasks
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation for audit purposes
- Support budgeting processes by providing relevant financial data
- Conduct regular account reconciliation to ensure data integrity
- Prepare reports on financial status and account activity for management review
Experience
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably within small organizations, especially food retail or bakery businesses
- Familiarity with QuickBooks is essential
- Strong understanding of accounting principles including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation
- Experience with payroll processing and budgeting is a plus
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are required to maintain accurate records
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple tasks effectively
