Executive Chef
Location: Evergreen Park, Grande Prairie, AB
Overview
Evergreen Park is a premier Northern Alberta event and entertainment venue, operating multiple food and beverage outlets, concessions, banquets, catered events, and community functions. We are seeking an experienced and innovative Executive Chef to lead all culinary operations across the organization.
The Executive Chef is responsible for the strategic direction, design, execution, and continuous improvement of Evergreen Park's food and beverage programs while delivering exceptional guest experiences, developing high-performing teams, and achieving financial and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight of all culinary operations, including restaurants, lounges, concessions, banquets, catering, special events and future food service initiatives.
- Design, develop and execute menus, recipes, production plans and culinary standards while ensuring consistent food quality, presentation and guest satisfaction.
- Lead all aspects of kitchen operations, including staffing, hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, performance management and succession planning.
- Develop and manage food and labour budgets through effective purchasing, inventory management, recipe costing and production planning while identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with major food service distributors, local producers and community vendors, sourcing quality products while supporting local businesses whenever possible.
- Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing team to develop seasonal promotions, featured menus, special events, sponsorship opportunities and other initiatives that enhance Evergreen Park's food and beverage offerings.
- Work closely with event coordinators and department leaders to successfully design and execute culinary experiences for conferences, trade shows, weddings, sporting events, concerts, VIP functions and community events.
- Maintain recipe manuals, plating standards, production procedures and operating systems to ensure consistency across all culinary operations.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, workplace safety standards, sanitation requirements and all applicable policies.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Department to coordinate preventative maintenance, prioritize and submit work orders, participate in planning meetings, and ensure culinary equipment and facilities remain safe, reliable, and operating efficiently.
- Foster a positive, accountable and collaborative culture focused on teamwork, continuous improvement and exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
- Red Seal Journeyman Cook preferred.
- Minimum eight (8) years of progressive culinary leadership experience, including at least four (4) years in the Canadian hospitality industry, with demonstrated knowledge of Canadian food safety regulations, dining preferences, labour practices, and supplier networks. Strong financial, organizational and operational management skills.
- Experience working within a multi-outlet hospitality, hotel, casino, convention centre, or event venue environment is considered a strong asset.
- Experience with menu development, budgeting, purchasing and vendor negotiations.
- Food Safe certification required. WHMIS and First Aid are considered assets.
Working Conditions
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays as business requires. Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment while standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
