Assistant Superintendent of Education

Enhancing community partnerships, as well as collaboration with the home, school, and parish is important.
As a key member of Senior Administration, and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendents of Education on various Board initiatives. The Assistant Superintendent will assist in setting and implementing annual system priorities and operational directions for the Board, including programs, supports and services, system supervision and direction to staff at the system level. The Assistant Superintendent will implement strategic directions as part of the Senior Administration team.
SNCDSB is seeking an individual who has:
- Deep commitment to the mission of Catholic education and a proven track record of advancing Indigenous education, truth, and reconciliation frameworks.
- Ability to manage district-wide goals, aligning board policies with Ministry of Education directives while fostering a collaborative, professional learning culture.
- Expert command of data-informed decision-making to optimize budget allocations, staff assignments, and student success initiatives.
- Active commitment to Ontario's equity action plans and human rights frameworks to dismantle systemic barriers for marginalized and Indigenous students.
- Extensive experience navigating collective agreements, collaborating with education unions, and conducting performance appraisals.
- High emotional intelligence and strategic agility to navigate crises, safety issues, and sensitive community matters.
- High-level communication and project management skills.
- Advanced, strategic understanding of Google Workspace for Education.
Required Qualifications/Experience:
Current Principal with five (5) years experience;
- Demonstrated System leadership in a team environment;
- Currently working towards or completion of the Supervisory Officer Qualification Program
- Certification in at least three teaching divisions (Primary, Junior and Intermediate)
- An acceptable undergraduate degree plus a Master's degree
- Proficiency in computer/technology skills
Conditions of Employment
- Ontario College of Teachers Certificate (OCT)
- Must undergo a successful Vulnerable Sector Check
